Education

Complexe Scolaire Katwe is an inclusive and community-based school established by the United Arcode Pacifism Foundation (UAPD) to provide quality, accessible, and culturally sensitive education for refugee and host-community children in Uganda. The school was created to address the challenges faced by refugee learners—such as language barriers, disrupted schooling, trauma, and limited access to affordable education.

Serving learners from Nursery to Secondary, the school offers a bilingual system that follows both the Ugandan National Curriculum (English) and the Francophone curriculum (French), ensuring smooth academic transition for children from diverse backgrounds. Beyond academics, Complexe Scolaire Katwe integrates psychosocial support, peace education, and life skills development to help children heal, grow confidently, and thrive in their new environment.

Today, the school stands as a safe and nurturing space where refugee and host children learn together, build friendships, and gain the knowledge and values they need to create a peaceful and hopeful future.

Our Education Team

Our education team is made up of dedicated and skilled teachers who are committed to supporting refugee and host community learners. With experience in both the English and French curricula, they provide inclusive, caring, and culturally sensitive learning. Their passion, professionalism, and teamwork help every child feel supported, motivated, and confident to succeed.
