Our Purpose
The purpose of the Environment & Sustainability Program is to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and climate resilience within refugee and host communities. Through education, practical interventions, and community engagement, the program seeks to create greener, healthier, and more sustainable communities that thrive in harmony with nature.
Tree Planting and Reforestation
UAPD organizes tree planting campaigns to restore degraded lands, prevent soil erosion, and improve local ecosystems. Communities actively participate in growing and nurturing trees, fostering a sense of ownership and stewardship for the environment. These initiatives contribute to climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and improved air quality.
Promotion of Clean Cooking and Energy-Saving Technologies
To reduce reliance on firewood and protect forests, UAPD promotes clean cooking methods and energy-efficient stoves.
