Health Program – Emmanuel Medical Centre
Accessible Healthcare for Refugees and Host Communities
The program combines professional medical services with community outreach, health education, and preventive care. By integrating physical health, maternal care, and psychosocial support, UAPD ensures holistic care for vulnerable populations, helping them live healthier, more dignified lives.
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Health Program is to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare to refugees and host communities. Through preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services, the program seeks to improve physical and mental well-being, reduce preventable diseases, and promote healthy lifestyles that empower individuals and strengthen community resilience.
Primary Healthcare Services
The Emmanuel Medical Centre offers outpatient consultations, diagnosis, and treatment for common illnesses and chronic conditions. Trained medical staff ensure timely, culturally sensitive care for all patients, creating an inclusive environment where refugees and local residents can access essential medical services.
Family Planning and Reproductive Health
The program provides counseling on family planning, reproductive health, and safe motherhood practices. Educational sessions and one-on-one guidance help families make informed choices, improve reproductive health outcomes, and prevent unintended pregnancies, supporting both women’s well-being and family stability.
Maternal and Child Health Programs
Special attention is given to the health of mothers and children. Services include antenatal and postnatal care, immunizations, nutrition guidance, and growth monitoring. By supporting maternal and child health, UAPD reduces mortality rates and fosters the healthy development of future generations.
Disease Prevention and Health Education
UAPD runs awareness campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, HIV prevention, vaccination, and other public health priorities. Community outreach programs ensure that refugees and host community members are informed about disease prevention, early treatment, and healthy lifestyle practices.
