Psychosocial Support Program

Psychosocial Support Program

Healing Minds, Restoring Hope, Strengthening Communities
The Psychosocial Support Program of the United Arcode Pacifism Foundation (UAPD) responds to the emotional and psychological challenges faced by refugees who have endured conflict, displacement, and trauma. Many refugees struggle with loss, stress, and social isolation, affecting their mental well-being and ability to integrate into new communities. This program provides compassionate, culturally sensitive support that helps individuals recover, rebuild, and lead healthier lives.

UAPD works with trained counselors, community leaders, and peer support groups to promote emotional healing and resilience. Through counseling, therapy-based activities, family mediation, and community dialogues, the program nurtures environments where refugees feel understood, supported, and connected.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Psychosocial Support Program is to restore emotional well-being and resilience among refugees by providing accessible counseling, trauma healing, and community-based support. We aim to create safe and inclusive spaces where individuals can rebuild their sense of hope, strengthen relationships, and participate actively in community life.

Trauma Healing & Emotional Recovery

Refugees often carry deep emotional wounds resulting from conflict, loss, and displacement. The program offers trauma healing workshops, one-on-one counseling, and group therapy sessions that provide safe spaces for emotional expression and recovery. Trained facilitators use culturally appropriate methods to help individuals process their experiences and regain a sense of stability, hope, and personal strength.

Creative and Recreational Therapy for Children and Youth

To support younger refugees, the program uses creative therapies such as art, music, sports, and storytelling. These activities help children and adolescents express emotions, build confidence, and overcome the psychological impacts of displacement. Structured play, youth clubs, and talent development sessions also provide positive outlets for self-expression and social bonding.

Support for Survivors of Violence and Abuse

UAPD provides confidential counseling and guidance for survivors of gender-based violence, domestic abuse, and other forms of trauma. The program ensures survivors receive emotional support, protection information, and referrals to specialized services when needed. This approach promotes healing, safety, and empowerment for vulnerable individuals, especially women and children.

Family Mediation & Community Integration

The program promotes strong family and community relationships through mediation sessions, dialogue forums, and community-building activities. These interventions help resolve conflicts, strengthen communication, and foster peaceful coexistence between refugee families and host communities. By rebuilding trust and social support networks, the program enhances community resilience and belonging.

A hopeful, emotionally resilient refugee community where individuals feel supported, valued, and connected.
