Refugee women often face unique challenges—limited employment, low literacy, lack of financial access, gender-based violence, and cultural barriers. UAPD responds to these challenges through community-driven solutions that strengthen women’s economic power, leadership capabilities, and social inclusion.
Our Purpose
To empower refugee women with knowledge, financial skills, and livelihood opportunities so they can support their families, participate in decision-making, and contribute to peaceful, thriving communities.
Empowerment & Dignity
The purpose of the Women Empowerment Program is to restore dignity and opportunity to refugee women by equipping them with the skills, resources, and support needed to rebuild their lives. We create safe spaces where women can learn, grow, and gain confidence as they work toward financial independence and personal transformation. Through empowerment, we strengthen families and foster peaceful, resilient communities.
Leadership & Voice
We exist to amplify the voices of refugee women and promote their leadership in the community. Through mentorship, gender equality workshops, and capacity-building initiatives, we enable women to participate in decision-making and advocate for their rights. Our purpose is to nurture confident women who lead with strength, compassion, and vision — shaping a more inclusive and peaceful society.
Economic Independence
Our program aims to enhance the economic resilience of refugee women by providing practical vocational training, financial literacy, and access to savings and credit groups. We believe economic empowerment is the foundation for stability, self-reliance, and improved quality of life. By helping women build sustainable livelihoods, we contribute to stronger households and more vibrant local economies.
Social Inclusion & Protection
The Women Empowerment Program is committed to creating inclusive environments where refugee women feel valued, protected, and supported. We work to reduce barriers related to gender-based violence, discrimination, and social isolation by offering counseling, peer support, and community engagement activities. Our purpose is to ensure every woman has the opportunity to thrive in safety, dignity, and mutual respect.
